ClearOps has decided to open a new location in Lisbon, Portugal – in order to relocate parts of the team ensuring business continuity and enabling better collaboration with all ClearOps offices worldwide. All necessary legal and organizational processes are complete and we were happy to welcome our first team members to our new technology hub in August.
From the time ClearOps was founded we have had colleagues in St. Petersburg, Russia. With their work, effort and creativity, they have made our software piece by piece into what it is today: a highly innovative cloud-based solution for data-driven supply chain optimization specialized for machine-manufacturing companies. At the same time, they have also shaped our culture and thus helped to build ClearOps in various ways. For all of that we (the rest of the ClearOps team) are immensely grateful.
The current political developments in respect to Russia has led us to the decision to explore new ways of collaboration with our irreplaceable colleagues from St. Petersburg. For various reasons it is no longer possible for us as a company to continue working with organizations on Russian territory. All existing business relationships are in the process of being shut down and completely terminated.
We chose Lisbon as the new location for our technology hub for several reasons:
- optimal geographical location for team collaboration: Portugal is perfectly situated to work with offices in Europe as well as North, Central and Latin America. The time difference to the other ClearOps teams is minimal which makes schedule coordination much easier. Likewise, Lisbon is easily and conveniently accessible via all major air routes.
- the European Union: as Portugal is part of the EU, logistical as well as labor issues are not a major hurdle. This is especially important as we plan to rotate staff in our teams in a targeted manner and to flexibly arrange work locations according to current needs.
- the new local environment: Lisbon is currently developing into the new technology hotspot of Europe. Many well-known international businesses are establishing new branches and hubs here – not only, but especially for data, developer and engineering teams.
As we see ourselves as one of the leading tech pioneers in the supply chain industry, the decision for Lisbon is a logical, well-considered and long-term course for the future development of ClearOps – as a product, an employer and an organization.
